Morocco has a rich history and culture. Influenced by Arabs, Berbers and Europeans it is a melting pot of traditions and vibrant cultures celebrating music, art and language. You will find well preserved historic sites and a variety of both new and old architecture

Morocco boasts a wide variety of landscapes, from the Sahara desert to the Atlas Mountains, from the coast to the fertile valleys. Be prepared to be amazed and don’t miss those spectacular photo opportunities

As well as varied landscapes Morocco also has a variety of weather depending on the time of year and the region of Morocco. From the heat of the Sahara in the summer to the cold of the mountains in the winter if you’re travelling around be prepared for change

Everywhere in Morocco you will find bustling souks and markets. Moroccans travel from afar to attend. You can buy just about anything including handicrafts, produce and everyday items

Moroccans are famous around the world for their hospitality. You will find a genuine warm welcome wherever you go, nothing is too much trouble and guests are sought out and invited to share in customs and traditions

Morocco is predominantly a Muslim country. You will hear the call to prayer and see many mosques.

Morocco is a multilingual country with most Moroccans speaking at least 2 or 3 languages as well as other dialects. Morocco has 3 official languages Darija, Arabic and Berber although many Moroccans also speak French or Spanish depending on where you are in Morocco

Haggling is commonplace in many parts of Morocco so be prepared to join in the fun. Be respectful and remember that some places have fixed prices so no haggling here!

Morocco is the land of tipping. Everyone expects a tip, wages are low and many people, especially those in the tourism and hospitality industries, cannot manage without tips. Give what you are happy to give based on the service you have received. On many of our trips we operate a ‘kitty’ style arrangement to make this aspect easier for our travellers
